Leadership

Andrew Roff

Andrew is active in all phases of the company’s business, including operations, accounting and land for operations in the Permian Basin.  He also guides the strategic direction of ROG.  More recently, he has helped craft the portfolio of alternative investments.  

​

Prior to founding ROG with his brother and father, Andrew was Vice Chairman of PetroUnited Terminals, Inc., a bulk liquid storage company with terminals in Bayport, Texas and Sunshine, Louisiana.  Andrew has also worked as Manager of Corporate Finance for Pennzoil Company and as a metals and foreign exchange trader for Inco, Ltd.

     

Andrew is a board member of the Inasmuch Foundation in Oklahoma City, as well as a lifetime board member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Foundation of Houston.  He has also served on the President’s Council of Wesleyan University and on the Board of Directors of The Beacon, a partner in the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County.

Andrew has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Charles Roff

Charles is primarily responsible for the company’s legal and administrative activities AND also oversees operations in Oklahoma, the U.S. mid-continent region, and to a lesser extent the Permian Basin. In recent years, he has participated in the establishment of ROG’s alternative investment portfolio.

 

Prior to co-founding ROG, Charles was Vice Chairman of PetroUnited Terminals, Inc., where he worked in operations and managed PetroUnited’s activities in China.  Before joining PetroUnited, Charles was an attorney at Sonat Exploration Company and Sonat Offshore Drilling, Inc.


Charles has served on numerous business and community boards, including Piermont Bank, MetroCorp Bancshares, The Salvation Army of Greater Houston (where he also served as Chairman), Asia Society- Texas Center, The Alley Theatre, and The Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University. 

 

Charles holds a BA with High Honors from Wesleyan University and a JD from the University of Texas.

Hugh Roff (In Memoriam)

Hugh began his energy career in 1974 as President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of United Energy Resources, Inc. ("UER"), a major U.S. diversified energy company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1985 Hugh completed the sale of UER to MidCon Corporation, an interstate pipeline company. In 1986 Hugh led a leveraged buyout of PetroUnited Terminals, Inc., where he served as Chairman of the Board until its sale in 1998. From 1999 until his passing in 2019, Hugh provided guidance and strategic direction as Chairman of Roff Oil and Gas.


Hugh was Chairman of the Salvation Army of Greater Houston Advisory Board, served on the Board of Trustees of Baylor College of Medicine for 25 years, and sat on the Boards of Visitors of The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory, the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Administration at Rice University, and of the University of Oklahoma Law School and College of Arts & Sciences. Hugh received a BA and a LLB from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi, the recipient of the Freshman Award, and a member of the Pe-et Honor Society.

Dan Kennedy

Exploration and Production Manager

Dan joined ROG in 2016. Dan has extensive industry experience in numerous technical and management roles dealing with conventional and unconventional plays. His responsibilities have included petroleum exploration, development, and property acquisition within various U.S. basins.  Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University.  He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, as well as the Oklahoma City Geological Society and West Texas Geological Society.

Maria Cuevas

Accounting Manager

Maria joined ROG in 2008. Maria is responsible for the financial activities of the company including accounts payable and
receivables, general ledger, tax and regulatory compliance and joint interest billing. Maria earned her BS in Accounting from
the University of Houston in 1982, and she is a Certified Accountant in the state of Texas.
